THE PROFESSIONAL ECCENTRIC NEWS

Unfortunately the Professional Eccentrics are no more; we have decided that we have taken the band as far as we can and we are all pursuing different things.

Following Jim’s decision to leave the band in the Spring of 2011 and the final gig at the Haddington on 17th April 2011, the remaining members; Gary, Pete, Tony and I continued to work together with a view to getting back out and playing live, possibly with Gary taking lead vocals.  However,in September all four members decided that things weren’t working as well as we’d like and the decision to call it a day was taken.

It was a disappointing end to the band, particularly as we never finished the album, but we remain friends and there is always a chance that we may work together in some capacity in the future.

On a personal note I really enjoyed what we did in TPE, particularly the original material and the Ska covers.  I think for my next projects I would like to concentrate on more up tempo, rockier material.

Talking of the future I have no fixed plans except to try to record some of the ideas for instrumentals / songs I have and see where that goes.  So keep a watch out on this site for possible uploads of tracks!

Some Positive News

On a more positive note I have bought a new guitar, it’s a Gibson J-185 sis string acoustic.  I used the money left to me by my parents and I believe it’s a fitting way to use the money as I will cherish it and will think of both of them who died in the last couple of years.  In fact I have already written an acoustic instrumental with the beautiful guitar called ‘Walking With Angels’, which will be one of the first tracks to record, as I previously mentioned.  A photograph of the beauty is on the ‘Guitars’ page.
